The information technology school-based assessment plays a significant role in how well you, as students, understand the material covered in this syllabus. Its goal is to support you, students, in picking up and using specific subject-related knowledge, abilities, and attitudes. The SBA activities are related to the syllabus and are part of learning activities that help students meet the syllabus's objectives. To complete the SBA, students are usually encouraged to work in groups.
The SBA usually is comprised of these topics:
Word-Processing
Spreadsheets
Database Management
Webpage Design
Problem-solving Programming

Information technology can be a fascinating and challenging subject with numerous transferable skills and experiences. However, students who study on their own may find it difficult to know where to begin. This is why the CSEC IT syllabus was created.
The CSEC Information Technology syllabus is intended to provide knowledge and skills in the following areas: computer fundamentals, problem-solving, networks, Web Technologies, productivity tools, computer and cybersecurity, as well as the social implications of information and communications technology.
The syllabus aims to provide a blend of knowledge and practical experience that fosters innovation, self-confidence, and critical thinking skills, preparing students to meet the region's and beyond's ICT needs.
The syllabus is organised into 8 main topics:
Computer Fundamentals and Information Processing:
Computer Networks and Web Technologies.
Social and Economic Impact of Information and Communications Technology:
(a) Implications of Misuse and Cybersecurity.
(b) Impact on Jobs and Education.
Word-Processing and Web Page Design:
Spreadsheets.
Database Management.
Problem-Solving and Program Design.
Program Implementation.
The lessons you will encounter when learning these topics will be in two categories, theory and practical. The theory category is the study of the ideas and abstract principles that relate to IT, while the practical category is the hands-on use of the theory applied to various activities.
To make it easier I've a downloaded version of your syllabus, a detailed walk-through video done by a very experienced IT teacher Mr Andre Charles as well a link to a google drive with videos and links to notes, tutorials and examples related to the topics of the IT syllabus.

Information technology, also known as IT, is the use of technology to collect, organize, share, and process data. The IT industry is rapidly expanding as businesses become more technologically oriented and the need to manage information becomes increasingly important, especially in the current economy, which makes it all the more important to learn and master the subject. Info Tech Made Easy is designed for CSEC IT students who want a little more guidance in their studies outside of the classroom in their own time as well as information about the subject in one convenient place.
In this blog we will look at:

I've also created a discussion forum to make it easier for students to share their thoughts, resources and questions on IT that they are having trouble with, to help each other outside of the classroom without having the need to create crowded and disorganised Whatsapp groups.
